Sicilian woman in mourning

Today my mother saw me dressed in black with a charcoal jacket and said, I am not kidding, "You like like an old Sicilian woman in mourning."  Has anyone else ever had her mom say that?

Here are examples of my long-gone relatives dressed, well, in black:

Well, not all in black yet!  However, VERY Sicilian.

    Well, my mom has never said anything like that, but I did have my family ask me "What's up with all the skirts?" Then there was this story, http://childleadthem.blogspot.com/2011/01/at-fabric-store.html Apparently I dress too "old fashioned". :) I like the response I got from Gnat. It's more of a classic look that I'm going for. :)

    I can't believe nobody commented on the remarkable similarities between Mother Crab and the relative in the second picture. I am referring to the elderly lady in the front row and far right hand side.
