Summer at the Oratory

Yesterday was our annual Summer at the Oratory at St. Francis de Sales.  I will admit to the world that not only did I not help one teeny bit, I was probably a hindrance, intruding on others with my camera.  Bwah -ha-ha.  The people who DID plan it did an outstanding job.  I was so very impressed!

And now, for your entertainment, is my photo montage of yesterday's festivities.  Enjoy!

Not spiffy.

Canon Wiener wows the adoring crowds.

Fortunately for all of us, beer ISN'T just for breakfast anymore.

Canon Huberfeld felt a little stress at the beginning of the dunk extravaganza.

Sooooo close.

Abbe Alex has great follow through

Post dunking.

Canon H tries his hand at dunking Canon W.

Canon W goes under!

Obligatory shot of the tower.

Theology grad student against history grad student.
Theology wins!

I remained lazily seated, snapping photos and watching others clean.

All intellectual conversation ended as soon as I brought out my camera.

I received this photo a few years ago from a friend who wanted to show us what her First Holy Communion looked like at our current church.  Juxtapose it with these photos.  Yowza.

My daughter's only question upon viewing this picture was, "Why is the priest facing that way?"

Should I kneel between the flowers?

Six Flags

Six Flags offers free tickets for doing what we do best - reading books. Today I brought 3 of my kids there with Mrs. D and her kids to go on kiddie rides and to check out the latest tattoo fashions. We're hoping to get a family discount at the tattoo parlor up the street now.

When our day was over I took this sweet photo of the ferris wheel.

Notice I'm not IN the ferris wheel...

I have to be careful whom I tell things to because jokes like this appear in my in box:
Two blond girls were on their way to Six Flags. When they were almost there, they saw a sign that read: Six Flags Left. So they turned around and went home.

ICKSP Choir Camp

UPDATE: 8/8/11

The Latin teacher from Choir Camp just contacted me and let me know the following:
"Morale high; no children lost yet; food supplies becoming more scarce... rationing may begin soon."

Choir Camp 2011 is under way and rumor has it that all is well!!

I will post any updates that I receive!

Canon H isn't sure his class is going so well...

Dear Crabby

It has been almost 2 months since my last installation of Dear Crabby.  I was just reading through it and it made me laugh - out loud even!  Since I am now almost 100% healthy I would like to end the week with another edition of Dear Crabby!

So, go ahead.

Ask those pressing questions!
Your Dear Crabby can help you with all of your problems!

Example: Dear Crabby, will your Friday night festivities consist of Snack Mix and beer as always?
