Tree vs. Tree

Some people know how to put up a Christmas Tree, some don't.  Some know how to put up a tree only to have it fall, some don't.

For those of you who are in the St. Francis de Sales circle, I want you to guess to whom the following trees belong (no real names, please).  One is a first attempt at a tree, one is obviously the millionth.

Hey, look at the lights I got for next to nothing!
Oh, wait.  They're outdoor lights for bushes?
Well, at least my tree is sturdy, thanks to MotherCrab's extra tree stand!

And a partridge ornament in a pear tree.

Nothing says Christmas like 10 million lights, garland and breakable ornaments.

The trick is to put lights up and down each branch, spend 5 days alone decorating,
and forget to tighten the screws in the tree stand sufficiently.

Ah, holiday memories!

  1. I'm pretty sure Blake knocked over the OCD tree. If you look very closely, you can see the outline of a gin martini in the background...

  2. The first and second one is JJR's tree. I recognize the iron and ironing board in the background that used to be in my basement... along with JJR. :) And the second one is still JJR's because of the lights for bushes draped over the top of the tree. The ornament is a really nice touch though. :)

  4. BIC, I have to agree Mickey's caps are awesome, but that 4th photo is gorgeous. I have yet to see either of these trees in person, ahem, ahem. I just keep receiving photos from proud tree owners. If anyone else wants to send me a photo of his Christmas tree, just let me know.

  5. Ugh. I know the feeling of the tree toppling over. Lost quite a few expensive (and brand new) ornaments when that happened. And now we have an artificial tree.
