Life with Boys - Making a Telegraph

My son was trying to make a telegraph the other day and it wasn't working out too well.  One of the pieces got really hot (not too hot to burn flesh, though.  relax.) and he needed my help.  Good thing I have a pretend electrical engineering degree because I looked at his set-up and had some words of wisdom:

Mother Crab: Nope, I can't help you. Wait until Father Crab gets home.  He loves stuff like this.
Son: Hmmm
Mother Crab: You're not going to set fire to the house, are you?
Son: No. Well, at least I don't think so.

Hey Ma! Watch what happens when I do this!

  1. It would be a fearful thing to get your boys together with mine. Mine have lately been dis-assembling old toys--any which once lit up or beeped--for the electronic innards. They ARE going to build something cool... I think they're thinking a robot. But so far none of their 'connections' have produced anything close to heat. They'd be so envious!!
