Pictures of minor orders!
Since I don't have the security clearance to steal use (I joke because I can) The Institute's photos from their website like The Timman, I would like to direct you there now so you can see pics of our own Abbé Alex receiving minor orders.
I already blogged about it here, but I didn't have photos.
In the meantime, enjoy the photos I have taken (I stole the 2nd one from Mrs. H) of our dear Abbé .

Adieu (encore!)!
Déjà vu...
St. Francis de Sales Oratory (besides being the largest church dedicated solely to the traditional mass in the entire universe) also serves as a place of discernment for young men who are contemplating joining the priesthood, specifically The Institute of Christ the King. I have been fortunate enough to get to know all 5 who have been there this year and I can say they are all outstanding!
The remaining 2 young men departed this week to visit home and then they leave for Germany for another year of discernment.
Auf wiedersehen, my friends! May God bless you!

Life with Boys - Making a Telegraph
My son was trying to make a telegraph the other day and it wasn't working out too well. One of the pieces got really hot (not too hot to burn flesh, though. relax.) and he needed my help. Good thing I have a pretend electrical engineering degree because I looked at his set-up and had some words of wisdom:
Mother Crab: Nope, I can't help you. Wait until Father Crab gets home. He loves stuff like this.
Son: Hmmm
Mother Crab: You're not going to set fire to the house, are you?
Son: No. Well, at least I don't think so.
